Spending over six hours looking at properties Wednesday afternoon, I fell asleep at 10 pm that night and didn’t awaken until noon Thursday. Spent another three hours looking, wrote an offer on one, waiting for Keith to return from a conference in Las Vegas so he can look and decide if this is the house. He’s got a few other ideas, but we’ll see how those pan out. The way it looks, I won’t have a house before I return to Texas. But that’s all good, as we will get one eventually. My job is to get the movers packing our things and head them to Alaska while I stay at mom’s until Christmas when Keith gets there. He gets to meet he movers at our “home” here and supervise the unloading. The weather is nasty here, 31 degrees last night and pouring rain. Rained all day today (Friday) as well. I need to do laundry, but must wait until tomorrow when it is less cold and hopefully less rainy.
Home shopping in Alaska is discouraging. There is nothing here that isn’t 30-40 years old that we can afford. An absolutely perfect house in Eagle River that we could afford was sold the day it hit the market. Totally updated, just beautiful. Maybe the sale will fall through? It happened for me before. It could happen again.
Stay tuned. I will post photos of the home once we get it. Keep praying.
